For ADHD brains

When you know the task and still can't start

A task app built around the thirty seconds before you begin, rather than the tracking of what you finished.

The problem isn't the list

Almost nobody who calls themselves bad at to-do lists is confused about what needs doing. You can recite the whole list from memory at 2am. The task that's been sitting there for nine days is a four-minute task. Knowing that does not help, and being reminded of it helps even less.

So an app whose main talent is storing and reminding you of tasks is solving a problem you don't have. What actually blocks the four-minute job is the moment of starting, and almost nothing in the productivity category is designed for that moment.

Four differences

What Questify does instead

01

It takes the mess as input

You don't have to arrive organised. Ramble at the Orb, out loud or typed, in whatever order it comes out. It hands back the real tasks in your own words, so a first step exists before your motivation has to.

02

It caps the day at three

Draft three quests, bench the rest. Not because three is all you can manage, but because a list of nineteen is a wall and a list of three is a door.

03

Finishing does something loud

Ticking a box is a very quiet reward. Here a finished task takes visible health off a boss, adds XP, and moves your hero toward a new form. Same four-minute task, radically louder feedback.

04

The gap isn't punished

Disappear for a week and you won't return to a red wall of failures or a starved character. Your streak resets, everything you earned stays, and one small quest is waiting. The comeback is the easiest thing here.

What it is not

Questify is a game about tasks. It is not a medical device, a therapy, a diagnostic tool or a treatment. It makes no claims about symptoms or outcomes and it is not a replacement for professional support. Plenty of people with ADHD find that making starting feel like play helps them start. That is the entire pitch, and we'd rather say it plainly than dress it up.

The questions that actually come up

What actually happens if I stop using it for a week?
Nothing bad. Your streak resets and that is the whole penalty. Every point of XP, every level and every one of the twenty hero stages you earned by finishing real tasks is still there when you come back, there is no wall of overdue items waiting, and no character has starved in your absence. You open it, pick one small quest, and you are moving again. The app is built on the assumption that you will disappear sometimes.
I can never decide what to do first. Does it help with that?
That is the part it is actually designed for. You dump everything at the Orb, out loud or typed, in whatever order it falls out of your head, and it hands back the real tasks in your own words instead of inventing a plan for you. Then you draft three for today and bench the rest, because a list of nineteen is a wall and a list of three is a door.
Do I have to talk out loud to it?
No. You can type at the Orb and it works the same way. Most people type, usually because there is someone else in the room.
Is the AI compulsory?
No. AI planning is opt-in, it is switched off until you turn it on in Settings, and you can turn it off again at any point.
Is Questify an ADHD treatment?
No. Questify is a task game designed to make starting easier. It does not diagnose, treat or manage any condition, it makes no claims about symptoms or outcomes, and it is not a substitute for professional support. It is built with the experience of bouncing off task apps in mind, and that is as far as the claim goes.
What does it cost, and does it work on iPad?
It runs on iPhone and iPad, and it is free to use as a task game: quests, bosses, all four worlds, the full twenty-stage hero and the Orb. Premium is $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year in the US and unlocks personalized avatars and private Guilds. There is no Android or web version yet.
